(Rightallegiance.com) – A woman named Farida was found dead inside a large snake called a python in central Indonesia. This is not the first time this has happened in the country. Since 2017, at least four other people have been eaten by pythons in Indonesia.
The husband of 45-year-old Farida and some people from their village found her inside the python, which was about five meters long. The snake had eaten her whole. A search began when Farida did not come home after going out on Thursday night. They found her belongings and then spotted the python with a large belly. When they cut open the snake’s stomach, they found Farida inside, still dressed in her clothes.
Reticulated pythons, like the one that ate Farida, are common in Indonesia and other parts of Southeast Asia. They can grow up to 20 feet long and are known to eat monkeys, pigs, and other animals. It is very rare for humans to be killed by pythons, but there have been a few cases in Indonesia in recent years.In 2022, a woman was swallowed whole by a python in Indonesia’s Jambi province.
In 2018, another woman was found dead inside a seven-meter python in Southeast Sulawesi’s Muna town. In 2017, a farmer in West Sulawesi was eaten alive by a four-meter python at a palm oil plantation.Reticulated pythons are known for being aggressive.
They can grow longer than a giraffe is tall and are sometimes kept as pets in the United States. In 2022, a 16-foot albino reticulated python was found wandering through a neighborhood in Texas and was eventually returned to its owner.
