(Rightallegiance.com) – Boxing legend Mike Tyson had a health scare on a flight from Miami to Los Angeles, where he became nauseous and dizzy, according to his representatives. Despite the incident, which occurred just before landing, his team assured that the 57-year-old is now “doing great.”
Tyson’s representatives explained that he experienced nausea and dizziness due to an ulcer flare-up about 30 minutes before landing. They expressed gratitude to the medical staff who assisted him during the ordeal.
In Touch Weekly was the first to report the incident, describing it as a “medical emergency.” According to a source, paramedics boarded the plane after an announcement was made requesting a doctor, which was displayed on passengers’ screens.
The situation undoubtedly caused concern among passengers who were unaware of Tyson’s condition. Fortunately, Tyson is now feeling better. The medical scare caused a 25-minute delay for passengers disembarking the plane.
One source recounted that although Tyson was in first class, the stewardess in their exit row explained the situation, emphasizing the importance of ensuring the passenger’s well-being. The source identified Tyson and received a confirming nod from the stewardess.
This health scare comes ahead of Tyson’s upcoming fight with YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul on July 20 at AT&T Stadium. The fight, being a sanctioned event, will count towards both boxers’ professional records. Some have questioned Tyson’s ability to return to the ring, especially since he will turn 58 next month and has admitted to feeling sore during training.
Despite acknowledging his physical challenges, Tyson’s confidence remains unshaken. He dismissed Paul’s previous opponents’ abilities and expressed determination to win.
Paul, equally confident, stated his intention to outbox Tyson and prove his doubters wrong. The upcoming fight marks Tyson’s return to a professional boxing match since his exhibition bout with Roy Jones Jr. in November 2020, which ended in a draw. Tyson last fought in a sanctioned match in June 2005.
