Israeli Diplomats Gunned Down in D.C. Horror

(Rightallegiance.com) – A tragic shooting outside the Capital Jewish Museum in Washington, D.C., has left two Israeli embassy staffers dead, sparking widespread condemnation and raising concerns about rising antisemitism.

The victims have been identified as Yaron Lischinsky, 30, an Israeli citizen and researcher in the political department of the Israeli Embassy, and Sarah Lynn Milgrim, 26, an American citizen who organized U.S. missions to Israel. The couple, who were about to become engaged, were leaving an event focused on humanitarian aid for Gaza when they were attacked.

On the evening of May 21, 2025, as attendees were departing the event, Elias Rodriguez, a 31-year-old from Chicago, opened fire, killing Lischinsky and Milgrim. Witnesses reported that Rodriguez shouted “Free Palestine” during the attack and as he was apprehended inside the museum.

Rodriguez has been charged with multiple federal and local offenses, including first-degree murder and murder of foreign officials. U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro stated that the case is being investigated as a hate crime and an act of terrorism. The charges carry the possibility of the death penalty.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu expressed shock and sorrow over the killings, emphasizing the need to combat antisemitism. President Donald Trump also condemned the attack, stating, “These horrible D.C. killings, based obviously on antisemitism, must end, NOW!”

The incident has intensified discussions about antisemitism and political violence in the United States. Security measures have been heightened at Jewish and Israeli institutions nationwide. The FBI continues to investigate Rodriguez’s motives and any potential affiliations.

This tragic event underscores the urgent need for vigilance against hate-fueled violence and the importance of fostering understanding and peace.
