(Rightallegiance.com) – On May 25, Texas law enforcement successfully apprehended an international fugitive wanted for murder. The capture took place in Splendora, where local police, in collaboration with federal authorities, detained 21-year-old Leo Acosta Sanchez.
According to a press release from the Splendora Police Department, Sanchez had been residing illegally in both the state and the country. She was known to frequently travel between Splendora and her residence in Terrenos, a residential community located just outside Houston that advertises affordable land for sale.
The arrest occurred during a routine patrol by vigilant Splendora officers. They spotted Sanchez behind the wheel of a vehicle and quickly called for backup. Once additional units arrived, a traffic stop was conducted, leading to Sanchez’s immediate arrest.
The Splendora Police Department stated, “Following the arrival of additional units, a traffic stop was conducted, leading to the immediate arrest of the driver, identified as Leo Acosta Sanchez.”
Local authorities coordinated with the Department of Homeland Security to ensure Sanchez was taken into custody. She now faces charges for alleged crimes committed outside the United States.
