Biden Makes False Claim Regarding American Troops

(Rightallegiance.com) – President Biden asserted during Thursday night’s CNN Presidential Debate Simulcast that he stands as a unique figure among recent presidents, declaring, “I’m the only president this century and this decade who hasn’t had any troops dying anywhere in the world.” This statement, however, omitted acknowledgment of the tragic events during his administration’s chaotic withdrawal from Afghanistan, where 13 service members lost their lives.

Responding to questions from CNN moderators Jake Tapper and Dana Bash about the economy, Biden critiqued former President Trump’s policies, particularly focusing on tax cuts and economic achievements. “The greatest economy in the world? He’s the only one who thinks that,” Biden remarked about Trump, adding, “I don’t know anybody else who thinks they have the greatest economy in the world.”

In a shift to foreign policy, Biden criticized Trump’s handling of Afghanistan, asserting, “Truth is, I’m the only president this century that doesn’t have—this decade—any troops dying anywhere in the world like he did.”

However, the debate did not delve into the grim reality of August 26, 2021, when 13 U.S. service members, including 11 Marines, one Navy sailor, and one Army soldier, lost their lives in a devastating suicide bombing outside Hamid Karzai International Airport during the Biden administration’s withdrawal from Afghanistan. The attack, attributed to ISIS-K, also wounded 18 other U.S. service members and resulted in over 150 civilian casualties.

Earlier in 2021, all U.S. forces were evacuated from Bagram Air Base, the largest military installation in Afghanistan, marking a significant milestone in the withdrawal process. According to reports from Fox News Digital, the suicide bomber responsible for the attack had been detained at Bagram Air Base but was released on August 15, 2021, following the Taliban’s takeover of the facility.
